The Rockefeller University Stavros Niarchos Foundation – David Rockefeller River Campus has been awarded the 2021 International Architecture Award in the Schools and Universities category. Organized by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, The International Architecture Awards honors building and urban planning projects worldwide that stretch the boundaries of architecture.
Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the River Campus features a new laboratory, educational and campus life facilities that are accommodated in a horizontal expansion that bridges over an adjacent parkway in New York City and generously extends the University’s landmarked gardens to the edge of the East River.
