Hudson County Justice Complex Construction Update

These recent images show the construction progress of the Honorable Frank J. Guarini Justice Complex in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the new Justice Complex will house 24 Courtrooms (2 Civil, 10 Criminal, and 12 Family), Hearing and Mediation Rooms, Grand Jury, and Jury Assembly spaces. Courts Administration, the Hudson County Prosecutor, the Surrogate, and the Sheriff’s Department will also have office space in the building. Amenities will include a 75-seat public cafeteria, a self-help law library, a children’s play area, and training spaces for staff.

40% of the total project construction has been completed, including the installation of 85% of the structural steel (5,000 tons out of 6,000 tons total) and pouring of 19,500 cubic yards of concrete. Steel topping out is expected this month and will mark a significant construction milestone.
