On November 3rd, Rafael Viñoly Architects Principal and Lead Designer, Rafael Viñoly will give a talk at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales on the design of flexible academic and institutional laboratory and scientific buildings that support collaboration and innovation.
The event will be held in the Rafael Viñoly Architects-designed, Cero + Infinito building (featured here) a sustainable, trapezoid-shaped building housing the classrooms, research laboratories and administrative offices of the university’s departments of Mathematics, Computer Sciences, and Environmental Sciences. The building innovatively responds to the site which it occupies and provides occupants with lively gathering spaces and an energizing research environment. Two curving courtyards intersect expansive indoor gathering and study areas, carving out space for clusters of exotic trees and preserving native trees that predate the development site.
