Stanford Hospital receives LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its green design and construction features that positively impact the project itself and the broader community.
Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the 824,000-square-foot healthcare facility blends humanity with technology to revolutionize the patient experience. The seven-story medical building meets new earthquake safety standards and features a modular plan that can be easily adapted for a variety of uses and allows both for incremental expansion of the hospital building and a horizontal development strategy that complements the low-rise campus context of Stanford University and its Medical Center.
LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a globally recognized symbol of excellence in green building. LEED certification ensures electricity cost savings, lower carbon emissions and healthier environments where people live, work, learn, play and worship.
