Engineering News-Record announced the winners of its annual Best Projects Awards, which included the Rafael Viñoly Architects-designed, University of Chicago Medicine Center for Care and Discovery for best project in the Health Care category.
The Center for Care and Discovery features a modular grid design, which yields large, undifferentiated floor plates that are inherently flexible and more efficient than its existing campus, bridges over the adjacent street to optimize programmatic connections and circulation.
