The International Herald Tribune’s new event: City Visionaries, serves to provide a forum for debate and the sharing of best practice for the visionary management and marketing of cities. Scheduled for May 2014 in London, the event will bring together some of the most influential and inspirational business figures, along with city leaders, designers, urban planners, academics and economic experts to address key issues.
City Visionaries held a launch event this September, which included a panel discussion joined by Rafael Viñoly and moderated by Michael Kimmelman, Architecture Critic of The New York Times. The theme of the discussion: The reinvention of cities, served as the basis for questions such as: How do cities need to evolve? What is the key to making cities better places in which to live? And can design help create utopia?
